About the Role
As the Phoenix Safety and Compliance Manager, you will work closely with
other members of the Safety and Compliance team, Ride Hailing
Operations and Fleet Deployment & Readiness teams to institute a culture
of safety and compliance, supported by a robust strategy, systems and
processes for ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance across
our Operations. These will at all times support and be aligned with the
Safety Standards and SOP’s of our partner organization.
What you’ll be doing
● Implement a strategy and protocols to ensure compliance with
regulatory and partner safety and compliance standards and
mitigate operational risks.
● Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop and
operationalize quality assurance processes, including regular audits,
inspections, and assessments to identify potential EHS hazards and
implement corrective actions.
● Serve as the day-to-day, face-to-face safety advocate within the
Phoenix market, fostering a culture of safety awareness and
accountability among employees and stakeholders through training,
communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
● Investigate and resolve work place injuries, near misses, and hazard
concern reports.
● Oversee waste management, pollution control, and other
environmental initiatives.
● Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and
recommend corrective actions, develop emergency action plans, and
regularly coordinator drills.
● Maintain all workplace safety logs and records as required by
regulatory agencies and Moove program requirements.
● Conduct analysis of safety data and performance metrics to identify
trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies
to enhance safety outcomes and reduce incidents.
● Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory
changes in the Operations safety landscape, and provide strategic
guidance and recommendations to senior management to ensure
compliance and maintain a competitive edge.
● Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, industry associations,
vendors, and other internal & external stakeholders to represent the
company's interests
● Operationalize and oversee a comprehensive safety governance
framework for operations, encompassing policies, procedures, and
protocols to ensure compliance.
● You will engage and partner with multi-functional teams at all levels
of the organization.
What you will need for this position
● Proven track record 5+ years in workplace safety management,
environmental compliance, hazardous materials management, or a
similar role.
● In-depth knowledge of safety, environmental, and dangerous goods
transportation regulations, standards, and best practices applicable
to transportation operations.
● Safety Professional Certification (CSP preferred, ASP/GSP considered),
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or equivalent safety
certification.
● Current DGT and RCRA training certifications (within 1 year)
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to
simplify complex concepts and present at all levels within the
organisation
● Outstanding organisational skills with a track record of exemplary
performance within organisational systems
● The ability to work autonomously in a decentralised organisation
● This position requires the employee to occasionally move or
transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds across the facility. The
employee will also be required to work outdoors in various weather
conditions, including exposure to sunlight, heat, and cold.

Who You'll Be Working with:
Directly reporting to our Head of Safety, and closely working collaboratively
with our Phoenix operations team, Moove cross-functional partners,
external partners, vendors, and contractors.
