About the Role
As the Autonomous Vehicle Operations Manager (AVOM) for Fleet Development and Readiness (FD&R), you will be responsible for maintaining and improving fleet health across a broad range of fault detection, diagnosis, and readiness initiatives — all critical to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our autonomous vehicle fleet. You will serve as the People Leader for individual associates within the FD&R team and oversee overall site performance, fleet health, and workflow distribution.
What You’ll be Doing
Working closely with the General Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for fleet health enhancement in line with strategic goals and tech advancements
Ensure the fleet is ready for deployment, including conducting readiness assessments, site and fleet performance evaluations and best practice.
Lead technical initiatives and diagnostic methodologies to maintain and enhance vehicle performance/fleet health, enable predictive maintenance, and upgrades, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Work closely with product teams and other RHO Leaders to streamline processes and improve fleet performance.
Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for innovation.
Monitor KPI’s and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners, ensuring across the board performance standards and fleet development.
Build and lead a high-performing team, acting as a coach to other team members, ensuring adequate staffing at all times and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What You will need for this position
5+ years of experience in fleet management, operations, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong preference for someone who is experienced with Kaizen framework and processes and/or is focused on daily incremental improvements to processes and systems
Availability and willingness to work outside of normal office hours
Strong understanding of automotive vehicle systems and related infrastructure.
Proven project management skills with a track record of successful execution.
Triaging work orders and managing vehicle flow among partners
Work with AVOMs in Ride Hail Operations to maximize vehicles in service.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Experience in leading and developing technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Deliver FDR initiatives on time and within scope by ensuring strong project management and resource alignment.
Maximize fleet readiness by increasing the percentage of vehicles available for deployment at any given time.
Reduce downtime by decreasing the mean time to diagnose and repair vehicles.
Strengthen partnerships across teams by building trust, improving responsiveness, and fostering proactive collaboration.
Accelerate cross-team issue resolution by improving communication, ownership clarity, and operational workflows.
