Role Summary
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Autonomous Vehicle Operations Manager (AVOM) is the tactical driver of our ride-hail operations. Leading our day-to-day operations, you will work in tandem with your counterpart to ensure seamless, round-the-clock fleet readiness and execution.
While the GM architectures the regional strategy, you are the engine room. You bridge the gap between our operational playbook and the physical reality of daily fleet deployment. You will manage the ground team, oversee depot activities, and enforce our lean frameworks to ensure vehicles are safe, available, and performing flawlessly on your watch.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Fleet Operations & Execution
Shift Mastery: Co-manage the daily execution of all fleet operations, ensuring smooth handoffs between shifts and uninterrupted 24/7 service.
SOP Enforcement: Execute the core playbooks using Kaizen frameworks. Identify daily friction points and drive continuous, incremental improvements on the floor.
Cost Discipline: Support the GM’s P&L goals by strictly managing shift-level variables, including labor efficiency, maintenance turnaround times, and daily asset utilization.
Depot & Infrastructure Management
Facility Oversight: Manage the physical depot infrastructure during your operational window, ensuring it is optimized for high-velocity vehicle turnaround.
On-the-Ground Safety: Act as the frontline enforcer of our safety culture. Ensure 100% regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and vehicle health standards are met before any vehicle leaves the depot.
Vendor Coordination: Manage day-to-day interactions with third-party suppliers, maintenance vendors, and outsourcing partners to ensure SLA compliance and rapid issue resolution.
Team Leadership & Tech Integration
Lead the Line: Direct, train, and mentor a fast-paced ground team of fleet technicians, operators, and support staff. Foster a high-performance culture in a decentralized environment.
Data-Driven Execution: Utilize AI-driven tools and internal software to monitor fleet health, solve daily operational bottlenecks, and track your team’s output.
Performance Tracking: Report on daily operational metrics and shift KPIs, providing the GM with the visibility needed to optimize the overarching regional strategy.
Qualifications
The Operator: 5–8+ years of experience in fast-paced, high-complexity operations (EV fleets, logistics, warehousing, or advanced supply chain).
The Lean Practitioner: Strong working knowledge of Kaizen or Six Sigma principles. You know how to eliminate waste on the floor and streamline daily workflows.
The Tech-Adopter: You are highly comfortable using advanced software, AI tools, and dashboards to manage physical operations and prefer tech-enabled solutions over manual workarounds.
The Ground Leader: A proven track record of managing hourly and salaried operational teams, with a hands-on approach to leadership and conflict resolution.
Education: Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical operational experience).
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Key Performance Indicators (What Success Looks Like)
Shift Fleet Uptime: Hitting or exceeding daily vehicle availability and dispatch targets.
Operational Efficiency: Minimizing turnaround times in the depot (cleaning, charging, maintenance).
Safety Record: Maintaining a zero-compromise safety threshold and 100% compliance across all shift operations.
