Job Overview
Moove is seeking a highly experienced and technically authoritative AV Tech 4 to serve as the highest level of on-site technical expertise within depot operations. This role functions as the final escalation point for the most complex diagnostic, high-voltage (HV), and warranty-related repairs, ensuring all autonomous vehicles meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and rider-only readiness.
The AV Tech 4 partners closely with operations, market leadership, and engineering stakeholders to resolve advanced technical issues, implement predictive maintenance strategies, and mentor technicians across AV Tech Levels 1–3.
Scope of Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Vehicle Readiness
Perform expert-level diagnostics and repairs on high-voltage systems, including battery assemblies, power electronics, and complex vehicle electrical architectures.
Serve as the ultimate on-site authority for technical triage, resolving complex software-to-hardware conflicts prior to escalation to engineering support.
Execute and oversee advanced OEM warranty repairs in strict alignment with approved engineering specifications and safety standards.
Analyze fleet data and recurring fault trends to shift depot operations from reactive repairs to predictive maintenance strategies.
Evaluate and optimize diagnostic platforms and maintenance management systems to improve efficiency across the vehicle maintenance lifecycle.
Documentation & Operations
Partner with market and operations leadership to recommend and implement process improvements that enhance fleet health, depot efficiency, and vehicle uptime.
Assist with the interpretation, localization, and dissemination of updated SOPs and train-the-trainer materials.
Mentor and develop AV Tech Levels 1–3, with emphasis on advanced diagnostics, high-voltage systems, and sound technical decision-making.
Lead comprehensive root cause analyses for recurring failures and develop internal knowledge documentation to prevent repeat issues.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Act as the site-level authority on lithium-ion battery safety, including protocols for electric shock, arc flash, and thermal events.
Enforce the highest quality check standards, maintaining a target fixed-right-first-time rating of 4.00 or higher through rigorous auditing.
Implement and oversee advanced safety audits to ensure all high-voltage and critical repairs meet regulatory and partner requirements.
Ensure full compliance with internal safety mandates and external partner requirements for rider-only vehicle readiness.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Must be capable of performing all duties and holding all requirements of AV Tech Levels 1–3.
7–10+ years of advanced automotive, electric vehicle, or autonomous systems experience, with demonstrated success in a shop foreman, master technician, or lead technical role.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field preferred; or Associate’s degree with equivalent mastery-level field experience.
Certifications
ASE L3 (Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist) or equivalent high-voltage certification required.
Ability to obtain required OEM warranty certifications within one year of hire, as applicable to supported vehicle platforms.
Technical Skills & Tooling
Expert-level diagnostics and repair of high-voltage battery systems, power electronics, and complex electrical architectures.
Proven ability to resolve the most complex diagnostic and repair scenarios, including harness-level and pin-level electrical issues.
Final on-site authority for complex software and hardware conflicts prior to engineering escalation.
Advanced capability in analyzing fleet data and fault trends to enable predictive maintenance.
Expert use of diagnostic platforms and maintenance management systems to optimize tooling effectiveness and repair workflows.
Leadership & Strategic Operations
Partner with leadership to design and implement workflows that maximize depot throughput and vehicle uptime.
Experience delivering or supporting train-the-trainer models and translating complex technical material into practical instruction.
Proven ability to mentor AV Tech Levels 1–3, developing specialists in high-voltage safety and advanced diagnostics.
Effectively communicate technical findings and feedback to engineering partners to resolve fleet-wide technical blockers.
Safety & Compliance Authority
Serve as the site authority for high-voltage risk mitigation, including emergency response protocols for electrical and thermal events.
Enforce rigorous quality auditing to maintain a depot-wide fixed-right-first-time rating of 4.00 or higher.
Ensure full compliance with internal safety policies and external partner rider-only readiness standards.
Work Environment & Physical Expectations
Comfort making high-stakes technical and safety decisions impacting fleet deployment and passenger safety.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving hardware, software, and SOPs.
Expert proficiency with shop equipment, including vehicle lifts, high-voltage tooling, and advanced diagnostic interfaces.
