About the Role
Moove is looking for an experienced Accountant with strong financial acumen and an entrepreneurial attitude to be the Accountant (Treasury & Accounts Receivables). This position will be reporting to the Finance Manager. The Treasury Accountant will be responsible for monitoring the cash flow of the company on a daily basis and making periodic analysis.
What You’ll be Doing
Prepare cash forecasts & cash flow analysis, evaluate opportunities, and advise on investment of excess funds.
Reconcile inflows into banks with schedules, source documents received from Uber, and prepare weekly revenue reports.
Ensure the day-to-day liquidity of the company by executing daily cash positioning, documentation of accrued expenses, and outstanding fund requests.
Process local & foreign currency payments and manage exposure through the development of adequate foreign exchange risk mitigation strategies.
Maintain day-to-day banking relationships & operations, set up bank accounts, coordinate cash disbursements & creditors’ payment process, and assist in conducting cash movements between company’s bank accounts.
Maintain relationships with the company’s payment technology partners and help communicate company’s requirements, and resolve issues arising.
Update Driver payments through all payment platforms such as virtual accounts
Reconcile Driver payments through all payment platforms such as virtual accounts, payment platforms and Moove wallet; and update Driver’s records across all company’s products accordingly.
Relate with the Customer Success and Monitoring team to resolve issues that arise from driver’s payments & collections and make recommendations on automation of processes.
Reconcile transactions reports against settlement reports & bank statements to track settlements.
Maintain, and regularly review the petty cash process, ensuring proper retirement of both cash and card transactions.
Prepare, update, and ensure compliance with Treasury, Account receivables & Account payable policies and procedures.
Remit statutory deductions to the relevant government agencies (pension, withholding tax payment, PAYE, NSITF, ITF, NHF,VAT etc).
Ensure the documentation & proper filing of proof/bills for the respective financial transactions, prepare bank reconciliation statements and post journal entries to Microsoft Dynamics.
Support the Tech team in the development of tailored solutions for treasury activities.
Keep abreast of key developments/changes in IFRS and tax regulations.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Finance Manager.
What You will need for this position
BSc/HND in Accounting, or other business-related disciplines.
Minimum of five (5) years in an accounting or treasury role.
Proficiency in data collation & analysis and the use of Microsoft office suite and Google workspace applications.
Proficiency in the use of an accounting system.
Good knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts, principles, and practices regarding budgeting and management reporting
Good understanding of IFRS and other local/international accounting standards and practices
Good understanding of tax legislation
Good knowledge of trend analysis
Excellent problem-analysis and solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good report writing and presentation skills
Well-developed ability to manage multiple priorities
Key Metrics
Accuracy and up-to-date financial records
Accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations
Timeliness of supplier reconciliations, payments, and capturing of data
Timeliness and accuracy of monthly management reports Timeliness and accuracy of the budget preparations

Directly reporting to our Accounts Manager, and closely working with our Operations Team.
